Ministry of Memory

the last cloud will shift east over the meadows
gutherie street will shine in moondust
glass will be swept down chambers street
and slowly darkening edinburgh will slumber

terrific leafless trees shine tirelessly
while rain comes over from glasgow
gargantuan and wet and wild and warming
while the barren trickle into each slow second

and slowly darkening edinburgh will slumber
a widening slumber into the fiery tapestry’s mnemonic
as from an ancient traveller
who asking for water found the pulsing of a soul
