Stopping

Stopping.
Doors open.
People in.
People out.
Find a seat.
Keep your stub.
Know your place.
Starting.
Packages settling.
Mobiles ringing,
Reading, Pondering,
Plugged in iPod-ing.
Too busy to notice
Muffled shuffling.
Pushing shoving.
Raised voices
Startling.
Pinned to seats.
Unmoving.
Man holds woman down.
Protesting.
Threatening.
Yielding.
Shaking.
Know your place.
Quiet jumpers watching.
Silence from us, taunting.
Up
She stands.
She’s walking.
Keep off your hands.
He’s not hearing.
“You are mine.”
She stands.
He paws.
“Driver, let me off!”
Stopping.
We sit unmoving.
People off.
People on.
Find a seat.
Keep your stub.
Know your place.
Starting.
